I went to Whole Foods this week and they have Naked Juice on sale for $2.50. I found a pile of $1.00 off coupons at my local IGA store and put about 5 in my purse earlier that week. The Whole Deal magazine at the front of the store also had 75 cents off Whole Food coupons. (They also had a few hanger coupons with the same $1 off coupons that I found.) I combined the manufactures $1.00 off coupon with the 75 cents off store coupon and paid 75 cents for each juice!

Faithful Provisions also has a deal at Whole Foods on Kettle Brand Potato Chips, 4oz for $2 (Save $.79)

I am so excited to give away 2 copies of Crystal Paine’s book, The Money Saving Mom’s Budget. This amazing book will help you get on budget and stick to it. It has already helped my family stick with our budget the past month. My husband asked me if I wanted to go out to eat last week and I said, “I’d rather go out and buy $30 in groceries!” Now if you know me, that is not something that I usually say.

One of my favorite chapters in the book is on organizing your home. Crystal explains a great concept: If you can’t find anything, then you will spend more money going out to buy items to replace the ones that you can’t find. If you declutter your home, you will save money! If you remember a while back, I hired a declutter expert to come in and help me organize my room. She ended up giving me great tips on organizing my entire house. The chapter on organizing your home really helped me focus on attacking the clutter in our house and I have been making lists and checking things off each day. Her book also talks about setting goals and making lists. I used to think that I was way too spontaneous to make lists but this book has changed my way of thinking for the good. Now I make around three lists a day and enjoy meeting my goals.

I was inspired to read that Crystal is giving all of the profits of her book to Compassion International. If you have read Crystal’s blog, Money Saving Mom, you might know that she always uses cash instead of credit and she even paid cash for her home.

I want to be completely honest with you. I have had many setbacks on this blog. (Such as a recent hacking! Thank you to my wonderful friend, Stephanie at MomKaboodle, for helping me fix it!) The setbacks may have started when I began praying for people on the blog. I am not sure. I do know that prayers were answered and God was faithful. I am not sure however, that I was really ready for the warfare that followed. Over the past two years, I have fasted the internet a couple of times for an entire month. That’s probably not the smartest thing to do when your job is to manage a growing blog. My husband has probably been my biggest cheerleader, constantly telling me not to quit! As God continues to help me sort things out, He has prompted me to get help with the blog. At the end of last year Karie-anne started helping me. I cannot tell you the burden that lifted off of me and the healing that took place. Lizla is now helping me and you will get the chance to see the great deals she contributes. Lizla is a long time friend of mine and a huge blessing. Sometimes it is hard to ask for help, but I have found that when you humble yourself and get help amazing things can happen.
