Update: God placed it on someone’s heart to send us a huge meat package from Omaha Steaks! The order date was last week before we even knew our meats had been ruined. The package came today! I cannot even tell you how blessed we feel. God is taking care of us!
Our deep freezer quit working while we were on vacation and I had just bought tons of All Natural meat from a huge meat sale. I am going to have to get seriously creative with our food now if we are going to keep competing in the All You grocery contest. If you know of a meat sale, email me!

Generally, you will have limited coverage for food spoilage. It’s $250 in the standard insurance form, but every company has its own policy. If you have your policy, you can look it up under Additional Coverages. If you’ve had a recent claim, talk to your agent before turning this one in, as you don’t want to have a claims frequency issue if you only have a little bit of coverage. (I’m an underwriter - the one who cancels insurance for such reasons…lol!) Hopefully you will have a lot of coverage for it and can restock!!! Good luck!

We had a fire several years ago and i had 2 refrigerators and a very full deep freezer. All the food had to be thrown away since we had no power and they paid the full amount of ALL the food in the refrigerators/freezer as well as my very well stocked pantry and kitchen cabinets. Def give a call and find out your coverage! Deductible applies as with any claim, I’m sure.

I just got my deep freezer (FREECYCLED). The person we got it from said it worked, and I believe it did because when my friend dropped it off, it had water coming from inside it. lol
I hope you were able to replace your deep freezer. I hope your insurance paid for the food.
My friends insurance covered her food when we were hit by Hurricane Katrina. Replaced all $500!! She has a big family and a big freezer and a deep freezer full all the time!
